About Lake Odessa, MI - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Lake Odessa, Michigan is a village found in Ionia County. As of 2010, about 2,000 people resided in this community, which has been designated by the National Arbor Day Foundation as a “Tree City USA.” Settlers moved to the area in 1839, and the village was previously called Russell Settlement and Bonanza before receiving the name Lake Odessa in 1846. This name was chosen as a combination of Odessa Township and nearby Jordan Lake. Today, this growing community is conveniently situated between Grand Rapids and Lansing, both of which offer shopping and cultural opportunities.

While Lake Odessa is a small community, there are a few noteworthy things to do here. Lake Odessa Village Park offers outdoor recreation and a playground for children, and the Lake Odessa Area Historical Society allows visitors to learn more about the area. The I-96 Speedway is a popular destination during the summer months for racers of all experience levels. There are also many restaurants found in the Lake Odessa area, including C & R Homestyle Café, Chee Peng Chinese Restaurant, and Buddy’s on the Beach.

Typical of a humid continental climate, Lake Odessa features warm, sunny, and humid summers. This is a popular time for visitors to the area due to ample outdoor recreation, but when outdoor temperatures reach the 80s and 90s, it is important to have a place indoors to cool off. Central air conditioning is one of the most energy-efficient ways to keep indoor temperatures comfortable.

Temperatures can get quite cold during Lake Odessa winters. Average highs struggle to reach the low-30s, and the region is prone to lake effect snowstorms. During the typical season, the region will see about 75 inches of total snowfall, so the right gas or electric furnace at home is a necessity. These systems will keep indoor temperatures warm and consistent, and they also protect expensive home plumbing and pipes.
